This vector illustration was created for a collaborative project called the A to Z Drop Cap Book. Each letter was designed to reflect the book's theme of "signs and symbols."

For many a fortune hunter, the letter X holds a promise of untold riches. It is the subject of countless maps throughout history and literature, and of course none is more recognizable than the good ol’ treasure map. Whether it’s a pirate chest of doubloons, long lost royal jewels, a mythical city of gold, or the fountain of youth, you can be sure that X will always mark the spot.
